SAH : Entry Building

Sydney Adventist hospital front entrance internal and external viewSydney Adventist hospital entrance internal design

About the Project

The Entry Building provides a central access point from the new carpark to the existing buildings at the SAH. Its location between three existing buildings produced a series of challenges with floor levels, vertical circulation and linking to different buildings. A new multideck carpark adjoins the Entry Building with space for 800+ cars, whilst a light ribbon illuminates and directs occupants toward the entry.

The entry building provides an open sunlit, transient space from which people can orientate themselves. Designed primarily around vertical circulation, the building directs occupants toward the future hospital “hub” being the new heart of the hospital. The building is nestled between three adjoining buildings, the new carpark and addresses vistas of bushland to the north east, allowing for a quiet comfortable space to stop.
