Penrith Community Pavilion

About the Project

The Thornton Pavilion is located at the heart of a new residential development in North Penrith, overlooking a historic oval. The 700 sqm building accommodates community meeting spaces and offices as well as public use amenities and an all-abilities playground.

The Pavilion opened early 2013 and is operating as the sales office for the Thornton development prior to its intended use as a community centre.  The design is based on classic pavilion architecture: a single-storey structure with large open plan areas, maximising its open space outlook. Martin & Ollmann provided full design services based on an existing sketch design.
